Update: The weather is looking favorable so we will be hosting this event. If that changes, new information will be posted here by 12:00pm on the day of the event.

Join us for our quarterly Star Party at Vasquez Rocks Natural Area. Jupiter will be the star of the show that evening (hey wait, it's a planet!) along with a thin crescent moon, great nebulae, clusters and distant galaxies.

Sundown is around 7:30.

Everyone is welcome. You don't need a telescope to attend however, if you do have an old scope in the closet, bring it out early around 5:00 and join us for a telescope workshop. If you have all the pieces and they are in working order, we'll help you get your scope set up, show you how to align it and be ready for observing that evening!

See you there!

Location Info:

The site of our quarterly public star parties.

Enter the park via the main gate, turn left at the ranger station and continue to the end of the road past the large rocks.

This is a County Park so please be mindful of the rules. aka, no alcohol. No smoking of any kind except in your vehicle. The park normally closes at sundown but during our Star Parties, we make special arrangements to have the gates open until the event concludes. Also, please stay at the event after dark. The rest of the park is not open to the public after dark and you will be asked to leave if you stray from the event area.
