UPDATE: This event is ON for tonight despite the wind forecast of around 15 mph. The telescope workshop will begin at 3:30 and sundown is at 6:11.

Come join us for our quarterly Vasquez Rocks Star Party. This event is free and open to the public.

Please arrive before sundown which will be around 6:10pm. Saturn should still be available for viewing until around 9pm. We will also have a very thin crescent moon early on. Afterward we will have all the usual star clusters, nebulae and galaxies to choose from. A spontaneous constellation talk may occur.

Beforehand we will be hosting a telescope workshop beginning at 3:30. Feel free to bring that old scope you have in the closet and we will help you to get it set up. If it's in working order we will help you find something cool with it.

A great way to enjoy this event is to arrive early, enjoy this beautiful park, have a picnic dinner and then check out the scopes. (Be sure to wipe all that barbecue sauce off your hands first!) It makes for a fun afternoon and evening.

The weather is starting to cool off so dress accordingly as it starts to get cold pretty quick once the sun goes down.

See you there!
