Greetings Local Group Members and Guests, and Happy New Year!
The Local Group Astronomy Club looks forward to seeing you at our first meeting of the year this Thursday evening, January 9, beginning at 6:30 PM PST. Our meeting will take place in the meeting room at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Valencia. Creekside Place, 23630 Valencia Blvd, Santa Clarita, CA 91355.

7:00 PM MEETING PROGRAM: High Altitude Student Platform (HASP).
We’ll enjoy learning about an exciting project being conducted by students at the College of the Canyons – the High-Altitude Student Platform. This project provides STEM field students with the opportunity to design, fabricate, and launch a scientific payload on a NASA scientific balloon. This will be presented by several students who have been working on this project.
