For those of you who couldn't get away to go view the Great American Eclipse in parts East of here, The Local Group will be hosting a partial eclipse viewing event at Central Park. We will be over by the exercise stairs and will have several solar telescopes (with special filters for viewing the Sun safely) and a bunch of eclipse glasses for folks to safely view the eclipse.

Here in Santa Clarita, the eclipse will start around 10:00 and end around 12:30. The highest occultation will be around 50% at about 11:15. Remember, this happens very slowly so don't be stressed about missing the action.

This event is free and open to the public.
